Education

In some rural areas of Sri Lanka, many families cannot afford the materials necessary for their children’s education. Horizon Voyages supports selected families by providing essential supplies such as uniforms and learning materials, ensuring children can attend school up to a certain age under close supervision.

Support for Orphanages and Elderly Care Homes

We have partnered with several orphanages to provide financial assistance for children’s food and educational needs. In addition, we fund and supply food to elder care homes, supporting aged individuals who have been abandoned or are in need of community support.

Housing and Shelter

Recognizing the importance of shelter, we are exploring ways to offer assistance to the homeless, addressing one of the most critical needs of vulnerable populations.

Skills Development and Traditional Livelihoods

Horizon Voyages is committed to preserving and promoting Sri Lanka’s rich heritage of traditional craftsmanship. We support communities involved in pottery, weaving, blacksmithing, cinnamon cultivation, and brick-making, among others. Our close engagement with these communities helps sustain their ancestral trades, enabling them to thrive.

We also work closely with toddy tappers, artisan wood and mask carvers, and rural musicians, bringing tourists to witness these crafts firsthand. By promoting direct sales and facilitating interactions, we aim to keep these authentic crafts alive while providing a source of income for the artisans.

Cultural Engagement and Tourism Impact Programs

Our “Impact with Local Life” programs foster cultural exchange between visitors and village communities. Through music, dance, and culinary demonstrations, we create immersive experiences for tourists while channeling funds directly to local artists and performers. These events not only preserve Sri Lanka’s cultural heritage but also create unforgettable memories for our guests.

In addition, our homestay arrangements ensure that the funds for accommodations and meals directly benefit the hosting families, supporting local farmers by purchasing all produce from village markets.
